Master of Arts in Ministry

MA Ministry is a one-year degree program designed for candidates with a first degree in any discipline.

Aim of the Programme

To equip for ministry with a focus on Worship, Homiletics, Counselling, Chaplaincy, Health, and Healing and for active involvement in the Christian ministry. The program is devised with the philosophy ‘To equip for every good work’ (2 Timothy 3:7).

Objectives of the Programme

 

  • To offer comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of the Scripture.
  • To cultivate foundational skills of Christian Ministry.
  • To develop specific, interdisciplinary competencies who plan to do an MPhil/Ph.D. in Christian Ministry.

Admission Requirement

  • An applicant with a first degree in any discipline from an Accredited Institution with a grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.00 scale or equivalent, having adequate experience in the ministry.
  • An applicant with a diploma in theology will be required to pass the prescribed deficiency courses prior to admission to a master’s degree in theology
  • Admission shall be subject to the selection procedures of the university including an interview.

Graduation Requirement

The coursework shall consist of five core courses including one on Research Methodology, three electives from the area of Christian Ministry, one seminar, and an extended essay on a topic related to Christian Ministry. A Student must obtain a total of 36 credits as described below:
