Welcome to the Graduate Studies Program!
The School is mandated with the responsibility of developing and running various graduate programmmes as approved by the University Academic Board and the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission. The school is aimed at equipping graduates with critical and analytical skills for research, creating and implementing critical solutions and providing quality leadership through defined management.
He is currently an Adjunct Professor, in the Department of Banking and Finance, School of Graduate Studies. He holds Ph.D. degree in corporate governance from the University of Plymouth, England and is a Doctoral Fellow of the Institute of Professional Financial Managers (IPFM), London. He is an active researcher, academic, speaker and advocate on corporate governance. He has published several corporate reports on topics such as corporate governance of rural and community banks, board diversity, board charter, board evaluation and annual general meetings, succession planning and executive and director remuneration.
He is the founder and director of the MarkLan corporate governance Consulting in Ghana. He has served on key corporate governance committees and corporate boards both in public and private sector organisations. He is currently researching corporate sustainability and covers topics such as: linking ESG factors to executive remuneration, sustainability governance structures and practices, board oversight of climate risks and opportunities, materiality assessment of ESG factors, and sustainability assurance.
He has published research on corporate governance and corporate social responsibility in academic Journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics, International Journal of Doctoral Studies, Journal of Applied Thoughts (A Multidisciplinary Approach), and Palgrave Macmillan among others. He is regularly engaged by regulators, companies and other organisations to teach/facilitate workshops for directors, regulators and other industry professionals in Ghana, and has also led governance reviews for Rural and Community Banks.
