Graduate Studies Entry Requirements

The National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE) Ghana directives guide the Admissions Policy for school candidates. All applications to the University must be accompanied by original transcripts from previous institutions or examination bodies. Awarding institutions must be accredited and recognized by the National Accreditation Board.

The Application Requirements

Master of Philosophy in Business Administration, Master of Business Administration in Hospital Management- Information Technology- Accounting- Marketing and Strategy-Finance & Master of Science in Cyber Security

  • A good first degree (at least a second-class lower division) in a relevant field of study at All Nations University or any accredited institution.
  • In exceptional cases, applicants with 3rd class division who are already employed in programme-related fields and demonstrate the capacity to cope with the programme may be considered for admission. Such applicants must write and pass an entrance examination and a selection interview. For more details in respect of Admission requirements, applicants are advised to visit the programme-specific requirements for additional information on the various programmes.
  • For programmes marked with asterisks (*), applicants with lower division and below are admitted into the MBA-IT/MBA-HSM programme at the first instance. Students who obtain a CGPA of 3.20 or better MAY progress to the MPhil programme upon recommendation by the Dean of Graduate School in consultation with the Graduate School Committee

MA-M.Phil.-PhD Theology

Master of Arts in Theology

  • An applicant with a first degree in Theology or Religion or any related field from an Accredited Institution with a grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.00 scale or equivalent.
  • An applicant with a diploma in theology will be required to pass the prescribed deficiency courses prior to admission to a master’s degree in theology

Master of Arts in Ministry

  • An applicant with a first degree in any discipline from an Accredited Institution with a grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.00 scale or equivalent and experience in the ministry either in the church or an institution.

Master of Philosophy in Theology

  • A Master’s degree in Theology/Religions/related fields with a grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.00 scale or equivalent.
  • An Applicant with the first degree in Theology/Religion/related fields from an accredited institution with a grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.00 scale or equivalent be admitted conditionally, subject to taking prescribed Level 600 courses in the first year. The M. Phil registration be confirmed after obtaining a grade point average of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale or equivalent in the course work during the first year.
  • An applicant with a 3rd Class Division in Master’s degree, employed in program-related fields, with relevant work experience, and demonstrating the capacity to cope with the program may be considered for admission in exceptional cases. Such applicants will be required to write and pass a selection examination and an interview organized by the Graduate School.

Doctor of Philosophy in Theology

  • A Master’s degree in Theology/Religions/related fields with a grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.00 scale or equivalent.
  • An Applicant with the first degree in Theology/Religion/related fields from an accredited institution with a grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.00 scale or equivalent be admitted conditionally, subject to taking prescribed Level 600 courses in the first year. The M. Phil registration be confirmed after obtaining a grade point average of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale or equivalent in the course work during the first year.
  • A registered Ph. D. Candidate of another University may be allowed to transfer credits earned and may get a waiver of the coursework if the content of the coursework component of a doctoral degree is comparable with the approval of the Graduate Studies Committee

Note

In cases not outlined above, a candidate may be required to obtain an Equivalence Letter from the National Accreditation Board to assist the Admissions Board in its decisions.
Other combinations of credentials will be analyzed on a case-by-case basis.

The Admissions Board

The Admissions Board is responsible for vetting admission applications. Upon a positive response, the applicant is admitted at ANU into specific programs of study.

Candidates who do not meet the admission requirements for a Bachelor’s Degree will be recommended for admission to the Pre-University.
