Professor Samuel H. Donkor is a distinguished academic leader, theologian, and international development advocate with over four decades of experience in higher education, ministry, and global engagement. He is the Founding President and Vice-Chancellor of All Nations University (ANU), where he has led the institution from its inception into one of Ghana’s most innovative private universities, recognized for academic excellence, community impact, and technological advancement.
Under Professor Donkor’s leadership, All Nations University has grown from a pioneering vision into a fully accredited institution serving more than 2,500 students across disciplines including engineering, business, computer science, biomedical engineering, and theology. He has provided strategic direction to over 300 faculty and staff while building robust academic structures, international partnerships, and a strong culture of mentorship and student development. His tenure has been marked by institutional expansion, curriculum innovation, and a steadfast commitment to values-driven education.
Professor Donkor is internationally recognized for championing Africa’s entry into space science and satellite technology. He envisioned and funded the development of GhanaSat-1, Ghana’s first satellite, designed and built by engineers trained at All Nations University. With the support of international partners including JAXA and NASA, GhanaSat-1 was launched in 2017, placing Ghana among the nations engaged in space research and inspiring similar initiatives across Africa. Earlier milestones under his leadership included Africa’s first university-built ground station and the establishment of a Space Systems Technology Laboratory at ANU. He is currently spearheading a multi-nation African Development Satellite project.
Beyond the university, he has played a leading role in educational policy and sector development. He served as Chairman of the Conference of Heads of Private Universities in Ghana, where he expanded membership, strengthened institutional collaboration, and helped shape dialogue between government and private higher education institutions. He also maintains long-standing engagement with international academic networks, development agencies, and faith-based educational initiatives. A scholar and public intellectual, Professor Donkor holds multiple doctoral degrees in theology and ministry from institutions in India and Canada and has published extensively on higher education, leadership, public theology, and African Christianity. His work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals, edited volumes, and institutional publications, and he is a frequent keynote speaker at international conferences across Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America. He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of the All Nations University Journal of Applied Thought (ANUJAT).
His contributions to education, leadership, and community development have been recognized with numerous international honors, including the Education Leadership Award (Dubai), World Quality Commitment Award (Paris), Innovative Leadership Awards in Africa and Mauritius, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from Bharathidasan University, India. His career reflects a sustained commitment to academic excellence, ethical leadership, and the transformative power of education in Africa and beyond. Professor Samuel Donkor is married to Rev.
