Dr Victor Mawutor Agbo is a Ghanaian-born scholar whose research explores decolonial tourism education, ethics, and community justice. As a critical tourism scholar, his research sits at the intersection of decolonial theory, cultural and heritage tourism, community-based tourism, and sustainable development. His scholarship interrogates how colonial and neoliberal power structures shape tourism education, policy, and practice, particularly in African and Global South contexts, and advances transformative, justice-oriented alternative futures. Victor’s research agenda is grounded in epistemic decolonization, cultural geography, and critical tourism studies. Victor examines how tourism institutions, curricula, heritage sites, and knowledge systems can be reimagined to center Indigenous and local epistemologies, foster ethical tourism futures, and contribute to broader global conversations on social justice, sustainability, and decolonization. Education; PhD, Recreation and Leisure Studies – University of Waterloo, Canada, Master of Environmental Studies, Geography - University of Waterloo, Canada, BSc. Tourism Management – University of Cape Coast and HND, Tourism – Cape Coast Technical University.
